Air castle is a 6 tile formation used for 2442 endgames* and is the most optimal formation for the final 1024 before the 65536 tile**. It looks like this:

The most common ways to set this up are via 2244 (commonly known as LL) and 2442. The latter is much more difficult to set up initially, but once it is set up, air castle is easier to play than it is in LL.
